These single-serve packets contain pre-packaged buffers to form solutions having an established pH. Upon dissolving the contents of each packet in a predetermined quantity of distilled water, the user is able to make standard buffer solutions, usually with a pH of 4.00, 6.86, or 9.18. These are commonly utilized to calibrate pH meters and validate the accuracy of pH sensors.
